Meet me on JCOM radio this Sunday Evening

Long time blogger/Facebook pal Jeremy Jacobs has invited me to join him on his JCom radio show this Sunday night along with Alan Caruba. I have yet to meet Alan but perusing his blog tells me he is my kinda fella! We will be talking about Bush's visit to Israel, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Should be a lot of fun! I am honored that JJ would ask me and hope I don't disappoint him.

For all the scoop click here.

Starts at 5pm EST and 10pm BST.

Why I Love Soldiers

I have nothing but adoration, respect and admiration for our soldiers. Watch this trailer for "Warriors the Film" to see why.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things; the decay and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight; nothing he cares about more than his own personal safety; is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

John Stuart Mill

With this documentary, photo exhibit and book our aim is to raise funding for and awareness of the men and women warriors that have given so much to protect our freedoms. Freedom is not free.

Democrats Dilemma.

"The Democratic nomination race is murkier than ever," USA Today's Jill Lawrence writes. "Hillary Rodham Clinton is rising in the polls while Barack Obama is gaining ground among superdelegates who will decide the winner."

Progress.

WASHINGTON — High-ranking Shiite and Sunni leaders are preparing to issue a religious decree condemning suicide bombings and other forms of violence, according to an Anglican minister who has led efforts to bring the two Muslim sects closer.

The draft decree, also called a fatwa, cites Quranic verses and says, "The prophet Mohammed prevents the spilling of blood, Muslim against Muslim, and thus suicide bombings are totally prohibited," the Rev. Canon Andrew White said during a dinner Monday with Pentagon officials. The draft calls on Iraqis "to reject and forsake all violence, forsake all killing and provocation," White said.

The Crisis unfolds: It's getting colder/warmer, faster/slower, sooner/later/never.

Maggie's Farm has the dope:

I thought we were all going to drown in 10 years. "Never mind," say scientists.

The article doesn't even bother to mention that we've had over ten years of no warming. That's "climate change" for you. Now, any "warming" is real, but any cooling is an accident. But what if the warming was an accident, and long-term cooling is real? No doubt Al Gore's hedge fund is now going long goose-down futures.
This reminds me of Paul Krugman predicting 15 of the last three recessions. Now watch the ideological warmingists "adjust" their models to keep the cash coming in.
Up here in Yankeeland, there's the old saying "If you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes."

I am keeping my parkas.

Stupid Criminal of the Day (Possibly Year).

Police: Texas man trying to cash $360 billion check arrested.

FORT WORTH, Texas - Charles Ray Fuller must have been planning one big record company.

The 21-year-old North Texas man was arrested last week for trying to cash a $360 billion check, saying he wanted to start a record business, authorities said. Tellers at the Fort Worth bank were immediately suspicious — perhaps the 10 zeros on a personal check tipped them off, according to investigators.

Proletarianizing the Middle Class.

That's the Gramscian tactic: tax 'em 'til they feel poor, then apply incremental Marxism until they own your soul and you become a grateful serf of The State at The People's Tractor Factory #23.

The Incoherence of Nancy Pelosi.

The Democrats' domestic policies are an incoherent jumble: they want lower gasoline and heating oil prices, but they block the very things, oil drilling and the construction of new refineries, that would actually reduce them. At the same time, for reasons of "climate change," they want less consumption of oil and gas, which implies higher, not lower, prices.

None of this makes any sense; the Democrats are just hoping that no one notices between now and November.

Labour is Getting Pummeled in the British Election.

Final results aren't in yet but it appears Labour is running third behind the Liberal Democrats and the front running Conservatives. Even better, it appears that Boris Johnson may have knocked off "Red" Ken Livingstone. This is apparently the worst showing for Labour in my lifetime.
